WHO IS CLAIRE?

Pinehurst has a special place in my heart since I was a child. My father was stationed at Ft. Bragg and we would often come to Pinehurst to visit and enjoy the scenery and places like the Women's Exchange and Midland Crafters. The magic I felt then has never left me.

 

I have been a full-time resident of Pinehurst since 2000 and built a home in No. 6. I am married with 3
step-children. I have parented them through elementary, middle, and high school here in Moore County.

I am a real estate broker working for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in the village.  I am a board member of the Given Tufts Foundation, formerly the Given Tufts Library board before the village took over the operations. Most recently, I was president of the Pinehurst No. 6 Property Owners Association.

As a working mom of three kids who attended area schools and sharing life with a husband who owns a Moore County business, we are a reflection of the growing dynamic in Pinehurst. Pinehurst can no longer be considered a retirement community.

 

With 11 years as the Director of Marketing for Moore County’s Tourism Development Authority, I
promoted our destination at regional and state levels. As you know, tourism is one of the major
economic engines for Pinehurst along with the hospital. Most recently, I volunteered at the USGA's first Adaptive Open and the USGA Amateur Open which are great ways to understand and appreciate the economic engine golf is for us.

My passion for the village is equal to your passion for ensuring that our quality of life is maintained and enhanced. This is achieved through careful policy-making by the council and the execution of those policies by our exceptional staff.

Many factors affect our village; traffic, population growth, demands on public services, and regulations that must be adhered to. We must be proactive if we are to fashion our future so that our children and grandchildren will still have this magical place to visit and call home.
